Dan Siluk
Managing Director & Portfolio ManagerDaniel Siluk is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for Kapstream Capital, and as a member of Kapstream’s Investment Committee is jointly responsible for oversight of investment strategy and portfolio leadership. Additionally he is responsible for risk and portfolio analytics. Prior to joining Kapstream in 2009, Mr Siluk served as Manager of Investment Analytics at Challenger Financial Services Group, between 2007 to 2009. At Challenger, Mr Siluk was responsible for providing attribution and risk metrics for their internal funds management business, as well as their boutique partnerships, which included Kapstream. Prior to joining Challenger, Mr Siluk spent four years in London where he was responsible for implementing and testing attribution and risk systems. Mr Siluk’s employers included Insight Investment, the funds management arm of Halifax Bank of Scotland (2003 to 2006), as well as Northern Trust (2006 to 2007). Mr Siluk holds a Bachelor of Applied Finance from Macquarie University.
Dylan Bourke
Managing Director & Portfolio ManagerDylan Bourke is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for Kapstream Capital, and as a member of the firm’s Investment Committee is jointly responsible for oversight of investment strategy and portfolio leadership. Additionally he is responsible for credit analysis and portfolio management. Prior to joining Kapstream in 2014, Mr Bourke served at Moody’s Investors Service, rating Australian structured finance products for over three years. While at Moody’s, Mr Bourke conducted extensive analysis predominantly on asset backed securities, residential mortgage backed securities and covered bonds. Additionally, he published numerous articles culminating in two Moody’s global structured finance research awards. Prior to Moody’s, Mr Bourke spent two years as a Credit Analyst at Macquarie Bank conducting financial institution and corporate counterparty analysis. Additionally, he worked for six months on the Macquarie Special Situations Fund investing in high yield subordinated debt, bridge financing, warrants and unlisted equity investments. Mr Bourke holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Law from Bond University and is a CFA charter holder.
Rob Roszkowski
Portfolio ManagerRobert Roszkowski is a Portfolio Manager for Kapstream Capital, and is additionally responsible for quantitative modelling and research and is active in both foreign exchange and interest rate trading. Prior to joining Kapstream in 2011 he held a role in a high-value consulting, advisory and private equity firm, having previously served as a researcher in quantitative finance at the University of New South Wales. Robert holds a First Class Honours degree in Finance from the University of New South South Wales, graduating at the top of his cohort. He also earned Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Economics degrees, specialising in Actuarial Studies and Economics.
Courtney Chute
Portfolio AnalystCourtney Chute is a Portfolio Analyst for Kapstream Capital, and is responsible for the management of money market and other short-dated instruments. Prior to joining Kapstream in 2012, Ms Chute served as a Portfolio Controller at Challenger Financial Services Group, from 2010 to 2012. In her prior position, Ms Chute acted as the trading and operational liaison between Challenger and Kapstream. Prior to Challenger, Ms Chute worked as a Settlements Officer at Boston Finance in New Zealand. Ms Chute holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration in Commercial Law from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.
Priyank Shah
Portfolio ManagerPriyank Shah is a Portfolio Manager for Kapstream Capital. Additionally responsible for risk and portfolio analytics, Mr Shah is also instrumental in interest rate and foreign exchange trading. Prior to joining Kapstream in 2015, Mr Shah served as an Analyst for Challenger Ltd in their Life division, latterly focusing on asset liability management with responsibility for FX and interest rate hedging and liquidity management. Mr Shah joined Challenger in 2006, initially in a unit pricing role before transferring to lead the Investment Analytics function between 2009 and 2013, where he was responsible for providing attribution and risk metrics for funds managed internally and by their boutique managers, including Kapstream. Mr Shah holds a B. Com in Accounting/Auditing from Gujarat University, India and an MBA in Finance/Accounting from the University of Technology, Sydney.
Pauline Chrystal
Portfolio & ESG ManagerPauline Chrystal is a Portfolio & ESG Manager for Kapstream Capital, responsible for credit analysis and portfolio management. Additionally she is responsible for leading ESG policy integration and research. Prior to joining Kapstream in 2018, she served for two years as a senior credit analyst at Scotiabank’s treasury team in Singapore, with responsibility for managing their fixed-income portfolio. At Scotiabank, Ms Chrystal conducted in-depth analysis on credit opportunities in both Australia and Asia and across numerous sectors. Prior to Scotiabank, she worked at Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong and Exane, a subsidiary of BNP Paribas in Singapore, as a convertible bonds analyst. She conducted fundamental and technical analysis on Asian convertible bonds for the trading desk, covering high yield and investment grade. Ms Chrystal began her finance career in 2006 as an equity derivative and structured product salesperson for Exane, covering private banking clients and asset managers. Ms Chrystal holds a Master of Science in Management degree from HEC Paris and is a CFA charter holder.
Mark Bayley
Portfolio ManagerMark Bayley is a Portfolio Manager for Kapstream Capital, and is responsible for credit analysis and portfolio management. Mr Bayley has over 20 years’ fixed income and credit market experience gained on both the buy- and sell-side in Australia and Europe. Prior to joining Kapstream in 2020, he served as Head of Credit Strategy & Research, and subsequently Head of Institutional Fixed Income, at FIIG Securities. Mr Bayley began his career in London in 1996 with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson as a Credit Analyst and Trader, and seven years at JPMorgan as Vice President, High Yield Research & Sales, before moving to Sydney in 2007 where he first spent two years as Director, Credit & Structuring for ABN AMRO, and seven years as a Credit Analyst/Strategist at Aquasia. He has been widely recognised for his research, with first place rankings by Institutional Investor, Credit Magazine and CFO Magazine, and is a frequent fixed income markets commentator, spending several years as a weekly columnist for the AFR. Mr Bayley holds an MA (Hons) in Economics from Downing College, Cambridge University and a Diploma in Management Studies from the Judge Business School, Cambridge University. He has been a CFA Charterholder since 2003.
Kris Bernie
Portfolio ManagerKris Bernie is a Portfolio Manager for Kapstream Capital, and is additionally responsible for macroeconomic research, asset allocation and interest rate and foreign exchange trading. Prior to joining Kapstream in early 2022, Mr Bernie was a Portfolio Manager for seven years with First Sentier Investors. As a senior member of the Australian Fixed Income team, he was responsible for generating alpha across both the rates and credit spectrum in Australian and global markets, and assisted in portfolio construction and design. Before this he spent eight years in an institutional rates and credit sales role with National Australia Bank, covering central banks, banks, fund managers and State Government authorities. Underpinning this was a research background, including market economist roles with National Australia Bank in Melbourne and London, beginning his career as a macroeconomic forecaster with the Commonwealth Department of the Treasury in Canberra. Mr Bernie holds a Bachelor of Economics with first class honours from the University of Queensland, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from Finsia.
Zeyu Gao
Quantitative AnalystZeyu Gao is a Quantitative Analyst for Kapstream Capital, and is responsible for quantitative research and development, data science and software engineering. Prior to joining Kapstream in 2021, he was employed by the Australian National University as a Software Engineer within the ANU Software Innovation Institute and the ANU Research School of Economics, and as a Data Science and Natural Language Processing Tutor within the ANU School of Computing. While at the Australian National University, Mr Gao also served as a Machine Learning Researcher, predominantly focussed on Natural Language Processing research and applications. He began his career as an AI Technical Solution Engineer at Intel Corporation. Mr Gao holds a Master of Computing (Advanced) degree from the Australian National University, specialising in Machine Learning.
Benjamin Zhong
Data AnalystBenjamin Zhong is a Data Analyst for Kapstream Capital responsible for data, risk and investment analytics and quantitative modelling. Prior to joining Kapstream in early 2022, he served for three years at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority as a Senior Analyst focussed on assessing the capital health and investment risk of the largest financial institutions. Previously, Mr Zhong spent 11 years at Challenger Limited in various investment analytics roles, including as Financial Risk Manager in the Life Division, Team Leader Investment Analytics in the Fund Management Division, and as an Investment Analyst in a boutique global equity fund. Before moving to Australia, he served for seven years in a leading Chinese investment bank, GF Securities Ltd, first as a Senior Internal Auditor then as a Financial Controller in the fund management subsidiary. Mr Zhong holds a Bachelor of Economics degree with first class honours from Sun Yat-sen University, China, as well as a Master of Applied Finance from Macquarie University. He is a certified FRM and passed CFA Level III in 2009.
